Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD episode review: Turn Turn Turn

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Tuesdays at 8:00 PM/7:00 PM CT on ABC

Months ago, many thought this show was never going to be the show die hard fans wanted to be, but after last night’s episode things just go better!

Last nights episode (Turn Turn Turn) began with the attack on Agent Garrett (Bill Paxton) and the explanation for from Agent May on her secret phone line, which is revealed that she was reporting to Director Fury. As the plane heads to The Hub, panic starts to ensue in SHIELD with HYDRA starting to take over. And now, Agent Coulson and his team are scattered in there struggle for survival against HYDRA and traitors of the Clairvoyant.

First of all, ABC lied about this episode taking place after Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Why? Because the episode was taking place During The Winter Soldier, not after. The crossover was during the events of the movie, next week’s episode is the after Captain America crossover. But that’s not a real big problem, because the episode was still excellent nonetheless.

The subplots of all the characters dealing with threats were excellently done, including the scene between Ward and Skye. But that too was predictable with the two. Ever since the second episode, they’ve been leading up to a romance between Ward and Skye, and now it finally materialized. I’ve been rooting for that for a while, but now its shaken by the ending.

Also in the episode (WARNING: SPOILER ALERT), it is revealed Agent Garrett is the Clairvoyant and a agent in HYDRA. This does not come as a surprise, seeing how they were being suspicious with his character, but this move was a well done twist.

Finally the ending, (WARNING: SPOILER ALERT) Ward killing Victoria Hand and the two body guards indicating that he was with HYDRA was a bold and shocking move. But the weirdest part is that in the final scene, he didn’t say “Hail HYDRA!” indicating he might be deep undercover and might not be HYDRA after all. We’ll just have to wait and see. An off hand note: The HYDRA symbol at the end of the episode was pretty scary way of saying there is things to come.

Rating of Turn Turn Turn,  9/10

Make sure to tune in next week’s episode on Tuesday April 15th at 8:00 PM/7:00 CT, Next episode being Providence, only on ABC.
