NBC greenlights drama show “Allegiance”

Its day three of the countdown to TV upfront meetings! And already once again before the meetings, NBC gets another head start on green lighting new projects, that being the CIA drama Allegiance.

Usually the only network that actually waits to do there 2014-2015 schedules is ABC, which is confusing to some.

The official synopsis for the show reads: Allegiance centers on Alex O’Connor, a young idealistic CIA analyst specializing in Russian Affairs, who learns a shocking secret and his close-knit, affluent family is about to split apart when its revealed that his parents, Mark (Scott Cohen) and Katya (Hope Davis) are covert Russian spies deactivated decades ago. But today the Kremlin has re-enlisted them into service as they plan a terrorist operation inside the U.S. boarder that will bring America to it’s knees.

Not surprising that NBC would green light such a series, seeing how CBS has been successful with crime shows like CSI and NCIS. I’m not sure how well it will do, but it is something to keep up with or on the lookout for. Make sure to keep up with all the latest news as Upfront is a day closer!

Stay tuned as I keep you informed of the latest TV news as the upfront meetings come ever closer!
