This week, you might say it’s not really a good idea to take your kids to the movies. Seeing how three of the four movies coming out are rated R films. But if you want to take the risk, there is one movie that is a Disney film that you can see this week, that being Maleficent.
Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Roth Films, Maleficent is a story about the villain’s point of view during the 1959 classic, Sleeping Beauty.
Now that’s kind of a dark and creepy movie to take your kids to see, but it is rated PG. I for one am not going to see it because I’m not a fan of that type of material.
I do not need to know the villains point of view on the story, I could just watch Sleeping Beauty and figure it out for myself. I don’t need to watch a dark movie to figure it out.
But that’s my opinion; you have to decide for yourself on this one. Just be careful, because this may only push forward the idea of monsters under the kid’s bed or in the closet. Instead, why not sit home and watch Frozen, cause that’s probably more fun to watch than this.
Maleficent is directed by Robert Stromberg; the screenplay is written by Linda Woolverton, and is set to be released May 30, 2014.
