Finally after many months of production delays and script rewrites, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales finally has been given the green light by Disney, and has a release date for July 7, 2017.
This is partly good and bad news for many pirate fans. For the good news, Disney finally gave them the green light and is on track for starting production and getting underway. The bad news, well it looks like this movie will not sail into theaters for another 3 years, that’s a very long time.
It’s been known for months that the fifth outing has been plagued with many problems, why? I do not know. Things grew even worse when Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer separated after their 20 year deal expired.
What the main problem is that fans won’t wait forever to watch it, and Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer could be shooting themselves in the foot with this decision. The fact they set it in 2017 means they have no confidence in the project to go against names like Ice Age or Independence Day.
But I guess we’ll have to wait and hear for more information, so stay tuned.
